Summary

• Colorado added 8,600 jobs and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 3 percent in February according to Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data.

• Over the past twelve months, Colorado added 63,400 jobs and the unemployment rate rose by 0.3 percentage point from 2.7 percent.

• In February, Colorado's private sector added 9,000 jobs and over the past twelve months, it created 59,000 jobs.

• The number of unemployed Coloradans fell by 141 in February, and over the past year, 83,568 Coloradans found jobs.

• Colorado’s labor force participation rate increased to 68.5 percent from 68.4 percent in February.  Since last year, the labor force participation rate rose 1 percentage point.

• The national unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.1 percent in February.  State employment and unemployment data for March is scheduled for release on April 20, 2018.  The national employment situation report for March will be released on Friday, April 6, 2018.
